Jo says…
”Portmeirion is a beautiful village and a fascinating day out, don’t forget to sample some of the authentic artisan gelato, simply delicious! And Tenby is such a pretty town, perfect for pottering around the little streets and taking in the lovely views from the harbour, perhaps whilst enjoying a cream tea. I find it hard to choose between north and south Wales, both are amazing places to visit and your customers will certainly enjoy both on this fabulous tour.”
PACKAGED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival in Llanberis
We arrive in Llanberis in the heart of Snowdonia National Park.

Day 2 Snowdonia & Anglesey
This morning, we enjoy a scenic tour of the Snowdonian countryside towards Betws-y-Coed, North Wales’ most popular inland resort. This picturesque Victorian village nestled within a beautiful wooded valley is surrounded by waterfalls, hill-top lakes and ancient bridges. We then make our way to Bodnant Gardens, spread over 80 acres on the western slopes of Snowdonia, above Conwy. The garden consists of two parts: an upper garden and a lower garden, both of which contain a wide range of interesting and beautiful plants from all over the world. This afternoon we continue along the coast to the Menai Bridge which takes us over the Menai Straits to the island of Anglesey and the town of Beaumaris, home to Beaumaris Castle, a great unfinished masterpiece and regarded by many as the finest Edwardian castle in Wales. This pretty seaside town is home to a Victorian pier and pastel painted houses and also has a wide range of shops, tea rooms and pubs.

Day 3 Snowdon Mountain Railway & Llanberis Driver's day off
This morning, we enjoy a scenic trip on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, a narrow gauge
track and pinion railway that will take us from Llanberis to the summit of Mount Snowdon, the tallest peak in England and Wales. We spend a little time taking in the view at the Summit Visitor Centre, before making the return trip to Llanberis. We spend the afternoon at our hotel or in Llanberis village. There is also the option of visiting the First
Hydro Company’s Visitor Centre or the National Slate Museum.

Day 4 Portmeirion & Carmarthen
This morning we travel first to the beautiful village of Portmeirion. Created by the architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1975, he wanted to pay tribute to the atmosphere of the Mediterranean and show how a naturally beautiful site could be
developed without spoiling it. At this unique place we visit the lovely gardens, picturesque village and shops before enjoying lunch (not included) in one of the six restaurants. We then continue our scenic coastal drive via Aberystwyth to Carmarthen and arrive at our hotel for the next three nights.

Day 5 Picton Castle & Tenby or Saundersfoot
Today, we enjoy a guided tour of Picton Castle, which has been owned by the same family since the 13th century. A unique property, being half castle and half fortified manor house, the castle is surrounded by beautiful woodland gardens and a magnificent walled garden. This afternoon we make our way to the picturesque seaside resort of Tenby, from where we can enjoy fantastic views of Caldey Island, stroll around the pretty cobbled streets of
the old town or simply enjoy the beach and harbour area. Alternatively, we can visit the charming, small seaside resort of Saundersfoot, which is much more compact than Tenby. On our return to Carmarthen we may choose to visit the Lovespoon Workshop located just outside of Tenby where we can enjoy a demonstration of the ancient tradition of carving
Lovespoons (entrance is free of charge, pre-booking is advised).

Day 6 Royal Mint & Cardiff
This morning we travel to Llantrisant, home of the Royal Mint Visitor Centre. Here we will be greeted by our Visitor Host who will lead us to one of the manufacturing areas to discover how blank pieces of metal are made before being struck to become coins. We will see the striking hall from a viewing area and will even have the opportunity to strike our
own coin to take home! (Extra charge, not included). We then have time to explore the interactive exhibition at our own pace. Please note, visitors are required to undertake security checks and wear high-visibility vests. We spend the afternoon in nearby Cardiff, the vibrant capital of Wales, where we enjoy free time to explore this exciting city.

Day 7 Departure
Today we begin our journey home.
