PACKAGED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel with time to explore the area at leisure before dinner.

Day 2 Churchill War Rooms & The Household Cavalry Museum
We start the day with a visit to the Churchill War Rooms where we discover the original Cabinet War Rooms, the wartime bunker that sheltered Churchill and his government during the Blitz and the place that the D-Day deception plans were born. We follow this with a free of charge visit to the Imperial War Museum where we explore the impact of war on people’s lives through a range of iconic objects on display, some of which have never been seen before. Lunch can be taken in the café. We then make our way to The Household Cavalry Museum, one of the city’s most historic buildings. Dating from 1750, it is still the headquarters of the Household Division (the Queen’s personal guard) and a living museum. The experience comes alive with compelling personal stories, first-hand accounts of the troopers’ rigorous and demanding training, interactive displays and stunning rare objects.

Day 3 Tower of London & Departure
After breakfast we have a short drive to the Tower of London where during the First World War the Tower’s moat was used to swear in over 1,600 men who by the end of August 1914, had enlisted at the recruitment station in the City. These new recruits formed the 10th Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers - soon to be known as the so called ‘stock brokers battalion’ - who fought for the duration of the war. We follow this with a free of charge visit to the Royal Air Force Museum London where we explore the some of the fascinating objects on display in the hangers such as the Lancaster and Spitfire. We could enjoy an afternoon tea in the onsite Claude’s Restaurant before making our way home.

If you are travelling from the north, why not consider a visit to Bletchley Park on your way home.
