Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2 Davos & Klosters
Day at leisure in Klosters/Davos
We have the day at leisure to explore the local areas of Davos and famous ski resort of Klosters, known as a winter playground for the rich and famous. For easy and convenient access to the surrounding area, use the local trains, which are free for us to use courtesy of our Davos/Klosters Inclusive card.
Day 3 Bernina Express
Today we drive to Tiefencastel station to board the Bernina Express, the highest mountain railway in the Alps and embark on a one-way trip through the mountains to Tirano, Italy. Admire the stunning wintery views from the train’s panoramic windows as we transverse dramatic viaducts and glide past rushing mountain streams, picture postcard villages covered in snow and even a mountain garden. The train climbs up to the 2,253-metre-high Bernina Pass, the magnificence of which is hard to translate into words! Our coach will meet us in Tirano for our return trip by coach to our hotel.
(Please note that the Bernina Pass remains open throughout winter, but that winter tyres are compulsory along possibly with snow-chains depending upon conditions).
Day 4 Arosa
Today, we have a full day in the beautiful resort of Arosa using the Arosa Bahn and leaving Klosters for the journey to board the train in the region’s capital of Chur, known as the oldest town in Switzerland and surrounded by the stunning mountains of Schafrügg or Erzhorn. We will have free time to explore and have lunch in Arosa. Afterwards, we board the train for the reverse train journey and then onwards to our hotel in Klosters.
Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
