Recently the local government in Paris has launched a scheme to reduce pollution in Paris by introducing a charge for vehicles to enter Paris in a similar scheme to the London congestion charge.  This scheme will apply to almost all vehicles including coaches as well as cars, and most importantly will also apply to foreign vehicles.  Charges are variable relating to the type of vehicle and the pollution level of the vehicle (Euro 4,5,6 etc).  This scheme is already in effect, so we are informing operators to ensure that our customers are aware.

The situation in Paris remains in flux, but our understanding is that nearly all of the main attractions are now open, and that there are no abnormal restrictions on coach access within the city. As the French Government has ordered trips conducted by French schoolchildren to be cancelled until next week (22nd of November), a number of other countries are following their lead.

The US State Department has issued no specific travel advisories following on from these attacks, beyond re-emphasising the “Worldwide Caution” it issued on 29th July concerning ISIL threats. Border checks are no in force for all travellers arriving in France, but beyond the checks taking place, we have had no reports of any further restrictions on visitors.
