PACKAGED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2 Honfleur
Today we travel to the charming port town of Honfleur, located on the beautiful Côte Fleurie. Honfleur’s beauty has long attracted artists whose work can be seen in the town’s museums and art galleries. During our visit we can explore the old harbour in the heart of the port, surrounded by distinctive high, narrow, timber-framed and slate-clad houses. Honfleur is also famous for its seafood, so our day at leisure is the perfect opportunity to sample some freshly caught fish at one of the many restaurants.
Day 3 Fromagerie Graindorge, Falaise & Calvados Distillery
This morning, we visit the Fromagerie Graindorge for an audio tour of the cheese factory, discovering the unique way Livarot and Pont-l’Evêque cheeses are produced. The tour is followed by a tasting of four delicious cheeses. A fascinating area, we will have time in the town of Falaise to discover its rich architectural heritage, and home of William the Conquerer. This afternoon (1500), we travel to Château du Breuil Calvados distillery for a guided tour. We discover the slow process of transforming apples into Calvados and enjoy tasting the calvados. Afterwards, we return to our hotel.
Day 4 Château de Vendeuvre & Lisieux
This morning, we visit the 18th century Château de Vendeuvre, one of the most beautiful castles in Normandy. Following our guided tour of the château and gardens, we enjoy a traditional 4 course Normandy lunch with a glass of wine overlooking the gardens. In the afternoon, we return to Lisieux where we can explore this beautiful town of pilgrimage at our leisure.
Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
