SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 Embark in Basel – Breisach
We arrive in Basel and board our ship from 15.00, before cruising to Breisach in the evening.
Day 2 Breisach – Strasbourg
We arrive early morning in Breisach, a picturesque town on the Upper Rhine with a pretty Old Town. The town focus is St Stephan’s Cathedral dating back to the 1200s and in the square alongside, the Rathaus Breisach (City Hall). Early afternoon we set sail for Strasbourg for arrival at 20.30 and we will be docked here overnight.

Day 3 Strasbourg
We are docked in Strasbourg until 22.00, so we have the full day to explore the city where French elegance meets German tradition. La Petite France is the most picturesque district of the city with half-timbered houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. Take a stroll through the Imperial Quarter, a UNESCO Heritage Site, with its varying styles of architecture from Art Nouveau, Art Deco to Neo-Gothic and Haussmanian. The city is home to the impressive European Parliament buildings as well as a magnificent cathedral.

Day 4 Mannheim
We arrive in the morning into Mannheim, where the Rhine borders the city of squares, with its vast baroque palace, modern architecture and historical attractions. Sights not to be missed are Europe’s second largest Baroque Palace and the picturesque Water Tower or take a stroll in one of the many parks or browse its wide range of shops. We will be setting sail at 23.00 this evening, so we have the full day here.
Day 5 Rüdesheim – Koblenz
We have the morning in Rüdesheim with its half-timbered houses, picturesque vineyards and scenic views. Spend time exploring the famous Drosselgasse area in the heart of the old town before re-joining the ship before lunchtime to sail to Koblenz. We arrive in Koblenz at 15.30, where we are docked this evening.

Day 6 Koblenz – Cologne – Amsterdam
We depart Koblenz in the morning to arrive in Cologne at lunch time. We are here until early evening, when we then set sail at 19.00 to make our way to Amsterdam. Take time to explore this fascinating city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its ancient Gothic Cathedral and historic houses. The old town, riverside promenade and the Hohenzollern Bridge define the city’s skyline.

Day 7 Amsterdam
We have the morning at leisure on-board, before arriving in Amsterdam at lunchtime. We have the afternoon to explore the sights of the city from its network of canals lined with pretty warehouses and cafes, to world-class museums and galleries. Watch the world go by or head for the Museumplein square for the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum or the Stedelijk Museum dedicated to modern art.Optional excursions are available.
Day 8 Disembark in Amsterdam
After breakfast, we disembark at 09.00 and begin our journey home.

Carrying up to 176 passengers and with a total of 88 cabins, the MS VIVA MOMENTS offers a range of onboard facilities for a relaxing river cruise. The ship measures 135 metres by 11 metres.
