Itinerary

PACKAGED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Palace of Versailles & Versailles
Today we enjoy a guided tour of the Palace of Versailles considered to be one of the most magnificent achievements of 18th century French architecture and design. The awe-inspiring Hall of Mirrors and astonishingly beautiful palatial grounds are highlights of France’s most famous château. In the afternoon, we enjoy free time in the beautiful town of Versailles itself before returning to our hotel.

Day 3 Paris River Cruise
This morning, we will see Paris from the water with a scenic river cruise along the River Seine giving us a bird’s eye view of the city’s beautiful monuments and architecture. This afternoon we have free time for independent sightseeing to explore the city’s art galleries, museums and famous landmarks. Afterwards we travel to the historic city of Rouen.

Day 4 Caen – from Medieval to Modern
This morning, we visit the Memorial de Caen Museum with a guided tour. The innovative museum tells the story of 20th century history in Europe as well an in-depth look at the events of WWII. Afterwards, we have free time in the centre of the city of Caen to explore the castle built for William the Conqueror which also houses the Fine Arts Museum and the Normandy Museum. A masterpiece of Norman Romanesque architecture, the Abbaye aux Dames is also worth a visit.

Day 5 Rouen and Journey Home
After breakfast, we enjoy free time in Rouen city centre to explore the medieval cobbled streets and admire the half-timbered houses, Gothic monuments and the magnificent Gros Horloge (Great Clock) with the oldest mechanism of its kind in France. We can also walk around the famous Market Square where Joan of Arc was executed in 1431. We then depart for our journey home.
