Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2 Mouscron Folklore Museum and Mouscron
This morning, we visit Mouscron Folklore Museum and discover the life of border regions—Picardy, Wallonia, West Flanders and Northern France – through objects, documents and personal stories. Explore working-class and middle-class homes, traditional trades from farming to weaving, and the bustling commercial life of shops and taverns. In the afternoon, we enjoy an afternoon at leisure in Mouscron.
Day 3 Lille
This morning, we explore, at our own leisure, the charming shops and bistros nestled along the winding cobbled streets of Lille’s Old Town. Highlights include the enchanting historic district with its stunning French and Flemish architecture.
Day 4 Tournai
Today we spend the day in Tournai, the “City of Five Bell Towers,” named after the iconic towers of its cathedral and known as one of Belgium’s oldest cities. Its remarkable heritage reflects a history that spans thousands of years. Discover Belgium’s oldest belfry and the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of Our Lady, both enduring treasures of the medieval era. Be sure to visit the Cloth Hall and admire the many Art Nouveau buildings that grace the streets, including the Museum of Fine Arts, designed by Victor Horta.
Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
