PACKAGED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2 Llandudno
Today, we have a whole day to explore Llandudno known as the ‘Queen of Welsh resorts’ to enjoy the beautiful Victorian architecture, Edwardian elegance, pier, many shops and attractions. Why not enjoy a ride to the top of the Great Orme on the beautifully restored tram. On our return to the hotel we can stop in Betws y Coed, a pretty village on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia).
Day 3 Llanberis
Today we have the whole day at leisure to explore Llanberis, known for the Snowdon Mountain Railway, a narrow-gauge rack and pinion railway which takes you to the summit of Mount Snowdon, the tallest peak in England and Wales. It is also home to the Welsh Slate Museum, which holds one of the largest water wheels built by the Victorians. Water to power the wheel was piped down from the mountain and its power drove the machinery to product roof slates for the whole country.
Day 4 Castell Caernarfon
This morning, we visit Castell Caernarfon, recognised as one of the greatest buildings of the Middle Ages and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Royal fortress-palace dates from the 11th century, and along with town walls and a quay, it took 47 years to complete, all situated on the banks of the River Seiont. Afterwards, we have free time to explore this ancient town. Why not head over the Menai Bridge to the island of Anglesey.
Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
