Day 2 Navan Centre & Fort & Armagh
This morning, we enjoy a guided tour of the Navan Centre, and one of Ireland’s most important ancient monuments, the Navan Fort. We discover some of the significant archaeological finds here. We experience life in an Iron Age dwelling, sample traditional Celtic refreshments, learn warrior skills and how to write our names in Ogham. Enjoy a soup and sandwich lunch with tea/coffee here before heading just across the way to the historic Hill of Armagh. As most attractions in the city are within steps of each other, our guided tour introduces us to the most important historic buildings including St Patrick’s Church of Ireland Cathedral, built on the site of St Patrick’s first stone church, and the 18th century Armagh Robinson Library, home to thousands of rare books, maps and manuscripts, including the original copy of ‘Gulliver’s Travels’.

Day 3 Hillsborough Castle
We follow in the footsteps of royalty this morning with a guided tour of Northern Ireland’s royal residence, Hillsborough Castle. As we move through the stunning State Rooms, we learn more about the history of this elegant Georgian home. Outside, we can stretch our legs in the 100 acres of beautiful gardens. We enjoy free time for lunch at the castle.

Day 4 Long Meadow Cider & The Argory

Today we are in for a treat with a visit to the family-run Long Meadow Cider Farm for an orchard tour, tasting, tea/coffee and VIP picnic lunch in the heart of the orchard county. Following in royal footsteps as HRH Prince & Princess of Wales recently visited the farm, we will learn about the heritage, craftsmanship and different apple varieties of 60 years of award-winning cider-making. We’ll explore the orchards with a guided walking tour before a tasting of ciders, juices and vinegars in the stylish Bramley Barn followed by our delicious picnic lunch. This afternoon, we visit The National Trust Argory, a Neoclassical mansion set in 320 acres of beautiful woodlands. Your special tour will uncover the Treasures of the Argory as we visit the rooms of the house hearing stories of the McGeough Bond’s, revealing objects that other visitors don’t get to see.  A highlight is hearing the 19th Century barrel organ play, filling the house with wonderful music.
OR
Alternatively visit Brownlow House with afternoon tea. Brownlow House is a striking 19th-century mansion located in Lurgan. Step back in time and explore its historical grandeur with its ornate design and rich history. Uncover the stories of its role as headquarters for the US troops during World War II with exhibits and stories dedicated to its wartime history.
