Overview

This new tour celebrates the festive season with visits to two of the most famous and grand stately homes in England. Blenheim Palace’s Christmas illuminations are a sight to behold and Waddesdon Manor is a festive treat. With some shopping opportunities thrown in, it’s a great way to indulge in all things Christmas!

Itinerary

PACKAGED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival

Day 2 Oxford or Bicester Village & Blenheim Palace
This morning, we can choose to visit the city of spires, Oxford, for sightseeing/shopping or take a trip to Bicester Village Outlets for some Christmas shopping. After plenty of time for lunch, we drive to the fabulous Blenheim Palace with the rest of the day free to explore one of England’s largest houses. As well as being a family home, it is also a mausoleum and national monument, and of course, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
During 2026, Blenheim Palace is undergoing an extensive & much-needed roof restoration project with scaffolding.

Day 3 St Albans & Waddesdon Manor
This morning we travel to the historic city of St Albans dating back to Roman times with free time to visit its key sights such St Albans Museum & Gallery, Clocktower or spectacular St Albans Cathedral. Or enjoy browsing in the town’s vibrant independent shops. This afternoon, we have a festive treat as we experience the Waddesdon Manor Light Trail. The French Renaissance-style chateau will be transformed with captivating festive displays and Christmas decorations. We can discover magical light projections on the Manor façade and a glittering light trail through the gardens.
