PACKAGED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2 Guided Tour of Scenic Andorra
Today we are joined by a step on guide for a fascinating tour of Andorra, with our first stop at the ancient Monastery of Meritxell, in a beautiful setting, the basilica was named as a sanctuary by Pope Francis in 2014 and is part of the Marian Route. Afterwards, we travel to Ordino, a magnificent Andorran town with free time for lunch. This afternoon we head to Pal, a typical regional mountain village with breathtaking views before driving to the majestic mountain pass of Coll de la Botella to soak up the spectacular views of the diverse landscapes. To end our wonderful day, we drive to Arinsal for a delicious tasting of liqueurs at a distillery.
Day 3 Guided Tour of Spanish Mountains
We are joined by a step on guide and start today by crossing the border into Spain for a visit to La Seu d’Urgell. Set on the confluence of the rivers Valira and Segre and overlooked by the spectacular Sierra de Cadí mountains. We visit its historic quarter and the beautiful Romanesque architecture of Santa Maria Cathedral dating back to the 11th century. Afterwards, we return to Andorra via Aixovall and Bixessari. This afternoon, we visit a typical Spanish mountain village, Os de Civis in the Parc Natural de l’Alt Pirineu and enjoy an authentic Catalan lunch at a traditional restaurant including drinks & live music.
Day 4 El Tarter Driver’s Day Off
We spend today at leisure. We can enjoy the hotel’s extensive facilities or take a walk in the beautiful countryside.
Day 5 Vall de Núria & La Molina
We leave the principality today and head over the Spanish border, through the Catalan countryside, to the village of Ribes de Freser. From here we wind our way up the mountain on the historic rack railway to picture-perfect Vall de Núria – at 2,000 metres above sea level, we enjoy spectacular views. Then we return to our hotel via La Molina, one of the area’s mountain resorts.
Day 6 Departure
After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
