Our itinerary captures the charms of this picturesque gem with a full-day island tour and visits to some of its most famous attractions; keep a look out for sights made famous by the Bergerac TV series, old and new!
SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival
On arrival in Jersey, we are transferred by coach to our hotel.
Day 2 Full Day Tour of Jersey including Hamptonne Country Life Museum
Today, we embark on a full day step-on guided tour of the island, visiting St Aubin’s Bay, St Brelade’s Bay, Corbière Lighthouse, St Ouen’s Bay, Grève de Lecq Barracks and Gorey Harbour. We also call at the Hamptonne Country Life Museum, where a 15th-century country farm estate, includes a cider barn and orchard, offer wonderful insight into the island’s rural life and cider-making history.
Day 3 St Helier & Samares Manor Botanic Gardens
We enjoy a morning at leisure in St Helier, giving us an opportunity to stroll the picturesque Esplanade and visit attractions such as the Jersey Museum, Maritime Museum and Elizabeth Castle—the latter via the causeway at low tide or boat (small additional charge) at high tide. This afternoon, we visit the Botanic Gardens at Samares Manor. Set around the medieval manor, these gorgeous havens include a tranquil Japanese Garden, water gardens, exotic planting and more.
Day 4 Wartime Jersey
This morning we enjoy a wartime-themed tour of Jersey with a specialist guide: delving into the island’s experience of military occupation by Nazi Germany between 1940-1945 and visiting some key WWII sites. We then head to the Jersey War Tunnels, built during the German occupation; exploring the subterranean exhibitions chronicling the hardships and heroism of the islanders during this period. The tunnels are over 1,000m long, so some walking is needed, but the terrain is level.
Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.

The family-run Beausite Hotel enjoys a lovely position in the parish of Grouville, just a short stroll from a wide, sandy beach on Jersey’s eastern shores. The restaurant makes the most of local ingredients where possible, while the characterful bar serves cocktails, wines and local beers. The Merton Hotel is a lovely, large resort hotel, situated in a great area of St Saviour, with good access to the local shops. The main centre of St Helier is approximately a 20-minute walk away. The 286 rooms are equipped with TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The Belvedere restaurant offers a varied breakfast and dinner buffet. There is also a choice of two bars; the Star Room and the Lounge Bar, which is cosy and ideal for enjoying a relaxing post dinner drink. Across the road from the main building, guests will find the hotel’s leisure facilities, which include a gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and tennis court.
This family-owned and run hotel is located in countryside, a short distance from the capital St Helier. Each of the 90 comfortable bedrooms is equipped with a TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel restaurant overlooks delightful grounds including an outdoor swimming pool and plenty of space in which to relax. Please note that the hotel does not have a lift, but does have ground floor rooms, although some steps are required to access these.
