The city of Reims has a special place in the history of France, and not just as the home of Champagne, although this is obviously their most famous export. We will experience everything the region has to offer, visiting two of the most famous cellars known around the world. We also spend time in Epernay, home to some of the finest Champagne houses. The Avenue du Champagne is often referred to as the most expensive avenue in the world, due to the amount of Champagne stored beneath it in cellars.

Day 2 Reims Guided City Tour & Champagne Mumm
We start the day in Reims where we are joined by a local tour guide for a guided walking tour of the city. The highlight attraction is the Notre-Dame Cathedral, bigger than its more famous namesake in Paris, and where the Kings of France were crowned for over 1,000 years. Our guide will bring to life the city of Reims and all the fascinating history. After time for lunch, we will enjoy a visit to Champagne Mumm for a guided tour through its cellars. We will enjoy a tasting before returning to the hotel.
Please note access to the cellars themselves are via stairs only.
Day 3 Champagne Route, Epernay & Champagne Mercier
Today we follow the ‘Champagne Route’ from Reims towards Epernay. We will have a short stop in Hautvillers, a typically French village famous as being the birthplace of Dom Perignon, before enjoying some free time in Epernay with time for lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the Avenue du Champagne, lined with impressive Champagne houses such as Moet & Chandon & Champagne Mercier. We enjoy a guided tour of Champagne Mercier by a train through their cellars followed by a tasting.
