Day 2 Davos Driver’s Day Off
Today we travel to Davos using our Davos/Klosters Inclusive card, which permits free train travel between Davos and Klosters. Why not board the Schatzalp funicular railway to the botanical gardens, which feature around 3,500 different flower species from all over the world at a height of 1,861m, or embrace the opportunity to visit the Jakobshorn Mountain on the other side of the valley, before returning to our hotel in Klosters.
Day 3 Chur Old Town
Today we make the journey along the valley to the regional capital, Chur. We spend this morning exploring what is believed to be the oldest town in Switzerland, including its car-free old town. With three major churches and cathedrals, Chur has a fascinating history. In addition, why not take the cable car up to the high plateau of Brambrüesch to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views. We return to our hotel in the afternoon through the majestic alpine passes, passing beautiful lakes and mountains.
Another option on this day is a return journey on the beautiful Arosa Bahn, which departs for the mountain resort of Arosa from the centre of Chur. Ask your Account Manager for details.
Day 4 Landwasser Viaduct & Historic Train Journeys
Today, we have a wonderful day of heritage rail travel whilst soaking up the beautiful mountain scenery. We will have free time at the fascinating Albula Railway Museum to discover more about the history of Switzerland’s most spectacular railway line and to have lunch. This afternoon, we can look forward to a journey on the Landwasser Express from Filisur where we soak up incredible views from the viaduct base. After our return, we board the historic train for a nostalgic journey through the beautiful Graubünden region to Davos Platz passing through the Wiesen Viaduct and the Zügen Gorge. After an exciting day on the railway, we board our coach and return to our hotel.
Day 5 Bernina Express
Today we drive to Tiefencastel station to board the Bernina Express and embark on a one-way trip through the mountains to Tirano, Italy. We transverse dramatic viaducts and glide past rushing mountain streams, picture postcard villages and even a mountain garden.
