A Taste of North Wales 2026
What better way to understand what ‘Welsh’ means than by trying some of its most famous consumables! We include tastings of Penderyn whisky, Anglesey sea salt and the traditional afternoon tea bread, bara brith. These are complemented by driving through some of the most iconic scenery: Eryri (Snowdonia) and the Menai Bridge crossing.
PACKAGED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2 Eryri (Snowdonia) & Bodnant Welsh Shop
Our day starts with a scenic drive through Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park on our way to Betws-y-Coed. After free time here to browse the shops, art galleries and local produce, we have time for lunch before we continue to Bodnant Welsh Shop in the heart of the Conwy Valley, where we enjoy tea/coffee and bara brith. Here we’ll find the best of Welsh produce from deli and artisan goods to hampers and gifts. We can also visit Bodnant Gardens, home to National Collections and Champion Trees.
Day 3 Llandudno & Penderyn Distillery Llandudno
We begin our day with free time in the popular seaside resort of Llandudno with its impressive Victorian architecture, pier, shops and attractions, exuding Edwardian charm. After lunch we head to the Penderyn Distillery Llandudno where we enjoy a guided tour and tasting. Our tour and tasting will teach us about the founding of this famous and award-winning brand and what makes the different whiskies taste as they do, so we start to understand why its reputation as a quality whisky producer is growing.
Day 4 Anglesey, Llanfair PG & Halen Môn
This morning we travel over the Menai Bridge to Anglesey and nearby Beaumaris with its medieval castle, lovely beach and Victorian pier. Here we have free time to explore and find a spot for lunch. Afterwards, we head to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch to explore this historic village famous for its name followed by a scenic drive to Halen Môn (Anglesey Sea Salt) for a guided tour. We learn about how the sea salt is made into the edible condiment, from the first batch on a family Aga in 1997, to modern day production.
Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
